Wait In Expectation
I’m up before the sunrise each day to make sure everyone on the farm is happy, healthy and fed their breakfast. After I’ve had my coffee I head out the door ready to start the day. Every morning the animals are lined up at their gates just waiting for their turn to eat. They’re excited good things are coming and they have no doubt they’ll receive exactly what they need for the day. They don’t sit up all night worrying if they’ll eat tomorrow or afraid they might go hungry because they know me. They trust I’ll always come with provision in hand and they believe I always will. They’ve learned I’m always there, no matter the weather, no matter the day.
What an amazing lesson we can learn from them!
If we look to our Shepard we can wait with anticipation, excited about what tomorrow will bring and step out unafraid we’ll lack for anything. We can live with joy because we know Him, we know He’s always been there and He always will be. We can look back and see He’s never failed us, not once. We don’t just pray and wait in worry, we can pray and wait in expectation because we know He’ll come through for us.
Romans 8:25 says “But if we wait expectantly for things we have never seen, then we hope with true perseverance and eager anticipation.”
Friends, I want to encourage you today to lay it all down at His feet. You might not know what tomorrow holds but you know the One that holds it and that’s all you’ll ever need. Trust He will provide exactly what you need exactly when you need it. Waiting can be difficult but the hope we have in Jesus gives us the strength and confidence we need to not just make it through our day but enjoy every minute.
